Varnum LLP seeks to hire an Associate Attorney to join the Estate Planning Practice Team in our Grand Rapids, Michigan office.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of relevant experience, preferably with a background in tax, estate planning, and/or trust and estate administration, and may be transitioning from an accounting or professional services firm. Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, business succession planning, trusts, and related tax matters is strongly preferred. Prior experience preparing tax returns is a plus, but not required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and delivering outstanding client service. Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a proactive, collaborative mindset are essential. Candidates must be admitted to the Michigan Bar or eligible for prompt admission. An LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning is a plus, but not required.
